The 2024 World Environment Day, themed “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience,” was successfully celebrated by Nigerian Environmental Society , Akwa Ibom Chapter at The Bunker in Ewet Housing Estate. Uyo.

The event featured a keynote speech by Dr. Charles Omini Otu, a distinguished environmentalist from the University of Calabar. Dr. Otu captivated the audience with his talk on “Impact of Land Degradation on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services: Empirics of Restored and Degraded Areas in Akwa Ibom State.”
